Wholesome Country Creamery is a dairy farm located in Hamptonville, NC whose milk is sold in Asheville through Whole Foods, Earth Fare, Farm to Home milk delivery, and others. Despite the “wholesome,” small-batch, grass-fed marketing, Wholesome Country Creamery employs the same cruel practices as commercial dairy farms, leaving mothers grieving their stolen babies who are taken from them shortly after birth.
Inquisitive, social calves spend their first months of life languishing like chained backyard dogs, confined in lonely hutches where they can never play, run, or experience the maternal nurturing and love they so instinctively crave. Instead of nursing from their mothers, the milk intended for them is sold to humans instead.
